IRIS+™ — AI Video Analytics Platform for Surveillance

IRIS+™ is a video analytics platform using AI with a set of algorithms developed specifically for surveillance scenarios. The deep learning-based algorithms enable automatic object classification with high accuracy, turning any video stream into a smart alarm device. The system is split into two main parts: Core and Edge.

Scalable IoT Architecture

IRIS+™ Edge

• Is the video analytics processing unit of the system (the "client")
• Requires high-bandwidth connectivity to every camera it processes
• Handles low-bandwidth connectivity to the Core and withstands temporary connection interruptions
• Each Edge attaches to the Core, updates configuration, and continuously sends alarms, health information, metadata, and metrics
• Flexible deployment, scale up (larger machine) or scale out (more machines)

Edge Deployment Options

• IRIS+ Edge Appliance (e.g., Irisity Edge 10): compact pre-configured hardware, processes a fixed number of video streams, typically placed with the camera system at the surveillance site; each appliance processes approximately 10 cameras
• IRIS+ Custom Edge: IRIS+ Edge software installed on custom or virtualized hardware, placed on-site or at a centralized location such as a server room or private data center
• IRIS+ Virtual Edge: IRIS+ Edge software installed as a container within the IRIS+ Core Kubernetes cluster, supporting high-availability and site-redundant scenarios for demanding installations

IRIS+™ Core

• Is the central system (the "server") that stores all configuration and information of the system
• Performs central management and high-level processing of metadata and alarms for advanced video analytics
• Runs cloud-hosted by Irisity in a multi-tenant configuration or self-hosted by the customer

Core Deployment Options

• IRIS+ Cloud: centralized, multi-tenant, high-availability installation fully managed by Irisity, running on Google Cloud Platform; each Edge connecting to IRIS+ Cloud requires an internet connection
• IRIS+ Custom Core: IRIS+ Core installed at a location chosen by the customer, supporting fully offline scenarios (no internet connection) for both Edge and Core if needed
• Custom Core — Single-server: easy-to-use installation on a single machine, does not support failover or high availability in the default configuration
• Custom Core — Clustered: advanced installation supporting failover, high availability, and multi-site redundancy via Kubernetes clustering; requires a minimum of three servers, each server running part of the cluster

Cloud-first, On-premise Support

• Recommends a cloud solution on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), managed to ensure uptime and data security
• Supports a fully stand-alone system when needed
• Built on Kubernetes with a containerized software architecture, supporting installations of any scale including on-premise

• No network configuration required: the connection is established by IRIS+ Edge, outbound traffic only (no port forwarding needed)
• Software upgrades: seamless and instant updates, managed by Irisity
• No on-premise server required: no need to purchase and maintain an on-premise server, the cloud server is managed by Irisity
• Fault tolerance: fault-tolerant architecture managed and maintained by Irisity
• Data back-up & restore: user data is backed up and restored by Irisity in the event of an incident
